For Parents
Book by the Hour, No Membership Required

There's no membership to join, no monthly fee, and no credits to track on Hopscotch. You pay for exactly the time you book — nothing more.
How pricing actually works
Every host sets their own hourly rate, based on what their space is worth and what they're comfortable charging. When you book, you pay:
- The host's hourly rate, times the number of hours you book
- A service fee on top, which goes to Hopscotch for running the platform
That's it. There's no recurring charge, no credits that expire, and no commitment beyond the booking in front of you. Book once for a Tuesday afternoon playdate, or every weekend for the summer — either way, you only ever pay for the hours you actually use.
Why pay-per-booking instead of a membership
A membership only makes sense if you're going to use it constantly. Most families don't need a private play space every single day — they need one for a birthday party, a hot afternoon, a weekend with out-of-town cousins, or a standing Tuesday playdate. Paying per booking means:
- You're never paying for time you don't use.
- You can try a new space without committing to anything beyond that one visit.
- If your schedule changes month to month, your spending does too — there's nothing to cancel or downgrade.
What's included in the price
The price you see on a listing before you book is the full price — host's rate plus service fee, clearly broken down at checkout before you pay. Some bookings also include a small protection fee, which funds damage and liability coverage for that visit.
Cancellations
Plans change. If you need to cancel:
- 48 hours or more before your booking — full refund.
- 24 to 48 hours before — 50% refund.
- Inside 24 hours — no refund.
You can cancel anytime from your bookings page, no need to call anyone.
